New Seema General Store & Readymade Garments

You can find us on Chhawani Road. New Seema General Store & Readymade Garments is a bit of a mix of everything. We started out selling just basic household items like soap, toothpaste, and snacks, but then we added a section for readymade garments because people kept asking for them. Now the shop is quite full. We have rows of biscuits and lentils on one side and then shirts and kid’s frocks hanging on the other side. It is a bit cramped, especially when more than three people come in at once. Chhawani Road is always noisy with the trucks and motorcycles going past. The floor is made of old cement and has some cracks, but it holds up fine. I spend most of my day standing behind the counter. My brother comes in during the evenings to help out when it gets busier. We don't have any fancy displays or mannequins. We just hang the clothes from hooks on the walls or the ceiling to save space. It is a handy place for the people living nearby because they can get their kitchen supplies and a new shirt for their son in the same trip. We know most of our customers by name since they have been coming here for years. Sometimes we run out of certain items, but we try to get more stock every Tuesday. It is a busy life but it keeps us going. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit but it works. We just keep things moving along as best as we can.
