Jaipal Fancy Store

Our little shop, Jaipal Fancy Store, is situated on Link Road over in the Bajaj Khana area. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of people moving around at all hours. We sell things like laces, buttons, bangles, and other bits and pieces for tailoring and dressing up. The shop is quite small, so it can feel a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. We've got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with different colored threads and little beads. We spend most of our time climbing up and down the small wooden ladder to get things for customers. It’s a lot of manual work. The street outside is usually full of bikes and rickshaws, so it’s never really quiet. We’ve been here for years, and the shop hasn't changed much in that time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we're usually too busy to get around to it. Most of our customers are local ladies who are making clothes for their kids or getting ready for a festival. We know which colors are popular this season and try to keep those in stock. It’s a simple business, really. We just try to be helpful and keep the bins full of the things people keep asking for. It is just a modest place where we work hard and hope for the best.
