Our place is out in IPIA, on Road Number 6, near G-562. It’s an industrial area, so there are a lot of factories and big trucks moving around all the time. The air always smells a bit like metal and smoke from the plants nearby. We deal in beverages here. It’s mostly crates of glass bottles and plastic ones stacked up high in the back. It’s a bit of a messy warehouse feel, not a retail shop where you come to browse. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading crates from the back of small tempos. The sun gets really strong on this side of town, and the road gets very dusty. We have a small office area with a desk that’s covered in papers and old invoices. There’s a water cooler in the corner for the workers because it stays very hot inside the building. We aren't trying to be anything big or fancy. Nandini Beverage just supplies the drinks to the local shops and stalls around the industrial zone. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes here, and there’s a lot of honking and shouting to get them moved. It’s a busy life. We started this because there was a need for cold drinks for the workers in these factories. We don't have a storefront for people to sit down, just a place to get the business done. The gate is usually open by eight in the morning and we stay until the last truck leaves.
