You can find us at 91 Shopping Centre. Manchanda Cloth Centre has been a fixture here for longer than I care to count. It’s not one of those modern malls with glass elevators; it’s just a solid, practical place to get things done. I took over the daily operations after my father decided he’d had enough of the standing all day. We mostly deal in all kinds of cloth, not just one specific thing. The shelves are packed with rolls and folded pieces that we've sourced from different places. It gets pretty loud in the Shopping Centre during the weekends, with everyone rushing around trying to finish their errands. We don't have a big staff, just me and my brother usually. We spend our time measuring out meters of fabric and making sure the cuts are straight, which is harder than it looks when you're in a hurry. The lighting in the back of the shop isn't great, so we usually bring the fabric toward the front so people can see the real color in the sunlight. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory. Everything is written down in a ledger that sits on the main desk. It's a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us and we haven't seen a reason to change it yet. We just keep our heads down and keep the shop running as best we can every single day.
