Gurukul Institute

We’ve been here on Jhalawar Road at IPB-13 for a good while now. It’s just a regular place where students come to get a bit of extra help with their studies. The building isn't anything fancy, just some rooms with desks and boards where we spend most of our afternoons. When we first opened Gurukul Institute, the road outside was a bit quieter than it is today. Now, there’s always noise from the traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s mostly just the sound of pens scratching on paper or someone asking a question about a math problem. We keep some old plastic chairs in the waiting area for parents who show up early. Sometimes the fan makes a clicking noise that we keep meaning to fix, but you get used to it. Most of the kids who come here live nearby, so they just walk or bike over after their regular school finishes. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the subjects well enough to explain them. It gets pretty hot in the summer months, especially around three o’clock, so we usually keep the curtains pulled tight. It’s a simple setup. We spend a lot of time grading papers and drinking tea from the stall down the street. It’s not a corporate office or anything like that, just a local spot where people come to learn things they find difficult. We’ve seen a lot of faces come and go over the years.
