Bits & Bytes

Our shop is tucked away in Vigyan Nagar. It’s a place where we deal with computers and all sorts of electronic gadgets. There are usually a few monitors glowing in the back where we do repairs. The front counter is often covered in loose screws and plastic casings because someone is always taking something apart. It’s not the neatest office you’ll ever see, but we know where everything is. We get a lot of students coming in because of all the coaching centers and hostels nearby. They usually have a laptop that’s acting up or need some cables. We try to explain what’s wrong without using too much jargon, though sometimes it’s hard not to. The shelves are filled with boxes of keyboards, mice, and internal parts that most people don’t even recognize. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while they wait, but most people just stand and watch us work. The air conditioner hums in the corner to keep the machines from getting too hot. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us who know our way around a motherboard. We aren't part of some big chain. We just like fixing things and seeing them work again. People in the neighborhood know us as the place to go when their tech fails. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need a big sign outside anymore.
