Ashok Readymade & General Store

The shop is called Ashok Readymade & General Store. We are located right in Purani Sabji Mandi, which is always a bit chaotic with all the vegetable sellers and people walking by. Being in Kota City, especially this part of Kota-Rajasthan, means there is never really a quiet moment. We have been sitting here at this same spot for a good while now. Our shelves are filled with all sorts of things, mostly clothes that people need for daily wear and some general items that folks always forget to buy until they see them. It is not a very big place and sometimes the boxes pile up in the corners when a new delivery comes in. The fans hum all day to try and keep the Rajasthan heat away but it usually stays warm inside. We don’t have fancy glass doors or anything like that. People just walk in from the street, ask for what they need, and we get it for them from the back or the high shelves. Sometimes we sit out front when business is slow and watch the traffic. It’s just a normal way to earn a living here. The address is 324006 if you are looking at the pin code. Most people just know the mandi area though. We keep things simple and try to have what the regulars ask for. It gets a bit dusty because of the road, so we are always cleaning the counters.
