Aradhana Cloth Centre

Aradhana Cloth Centre is located at the busy Chhawani Chouraha on the Main Road. It’s a very loud spot because of all the traffic that passes through this intersection in Chhawani. My shop is filled with different types of cloth that people buy to make their own clothes. We have big glass counters that we use to show off the different patterns and materials. They are a bit old now and have some scratches, but they serve the purpose. I spend a lot of time standing on my feet, showing roll after roll to customers. Some days are very busy and the shop gets quite hot, even with the big fans blowing. We don't have any air conditioning because it’s too expensive to run with the doors open all the time. I usually have a radio playing some old songs in the background. It helps pass the time when things are slow. I don't really do any marketing or put up big banners. People just know we are here at the chouraha. Most of our customers are women from the nearby areas looking for suit pieces. I try to be fair with my prices so they keep coming back. Sometimes my son comes in after school to help me fold the fabrics back up. It’s a simple family run shop and we don’t try to make it seem like anything more than that. We just sell cloth.
