Smyle Artz Dental Clinic

If you head down to Decent Junction, you’ll find us tucked away at Smyle Artz Dental Clinic. It’s a funny name for the area, which is always humming with people going about their business. The clinic isn't huge. We’ve got the dental chairs and all the tools laid out on those metal trays. Sometimes the sink leaks a little bit, but we just put a cloth under it until the plumber shows up. Most days, we’re just here cleaning teeth or filling things up. You hear the drill going and it’s a sound you get used to after a week of working here. The waiting room has some old magazines that nobody really reads anymore. We try to keep the glass doors clean, but fingerprints always show up by noon. Decent Junction is a busy crossroad, so there’s always a lot of dust and noise from the traffic. We drink a lot of tea between patients. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and we just sit there in the dark waiting for the generator to kick in. It’s not some big corporate office with shiny floors. It’s just a local spot where we work. We know the guy who sells snacks on the corner. The walls are painted a light color that’s started to fade near the light switches. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, right here in the middle of everything.
