About Makku Granite – Building & Construction Material in Kollam
If you are heading through Vavvakkavu Junction in Karunagappally, you will find Makku Granite right there near the turn-off. It’s a pretty easy place to spot because of all the stone leaning against the walls. We’ve been here for a while now, dealing with granite and seeing the town change around us. Amrithapuri is just down the way, so we get people from all over this section of the coast. The yard isn't very large, so we have to be careful how we stack the slabs so they don't fall over or get damaged. Most of my day is spent outside checking on the stock or helping the guys load the small delivery trucks. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it keeps us fit. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby; you just walk right into the yard and find one of us. Usually, we are covered in a bit of stone dust or wet from the polishing water. People come by mostly by word of mouth. They hear from a neighbor that we have some good slabs in, and they show up on a Saturday morning. We don’t do much fancy talk. We just show what we have and tell them how much it costs. It’s a straightforward way to do things and it works for us. The junction is always busy, so there’s always something to watch while we work on the stone. It’s a good spot to be for a small business like ours.
