G K Flour Mills

My family has been running G K Flour Mills for quite some time now. We are located right in Maruthadi, which is a pretty busy spot if you know the area. Most people find us because we are sitting right near the Kavanad Post Office. If you are driving and see the tollgate, we are just opposite to that. It’s not a big fancy building or anything, just a regular place where we get the work done. Every morning starts about the same way, opening up the shutters and getting the machines ready. It gets loud once things start moving. We spend most of our day covered in a bit of white dust from the grains, but that is just part of the job. People from around the neighborhood walk over with their bags. We recognize almost everyone who comes through the door. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is bad. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth is how most people hear about us. We just focus on the grinding. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy enough. The traffic near the tollgate can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we are used to it by now. We’ve stayed in the same spot because it works for us and the locals know where to find us without needing a map. We just keep things simple here. It is just a flour mill after all, nothing too complicated.
