Our place is at 1A on Ganesh Chandra Avenue, right in the Dharmatala area. We’re directly across from the old Hind Cinema, which is a landmark most people in this part of town know well. Raja Subodh Mullick Square is also just a stone’s throw away from our front door. At Watertech Engineers Pvt Ltd, we deal with a lot of technical equipment and spare parts every single day. The office is usually filled with the sound of the traffic outside and people popping in to ask about specific fittings or pump repairs. Dharmatala is always a bit chaotic, so there’s never a dull moment looking out the window at the crowds. We’ve got shelves full of manuals and boxes of components that we’ve gathered over the years. It’s a bit cramped, honestly, but we know where everything is even if it looks like a mess to an outsider. We don’t spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty because that’s not what we're about. It’s a workspace for people who need to get things fixed or built. The staff here has been around for a long time, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we started. Sometimes the monsoon rains make it a bit hard to get to our door, but we stay open regardless. We’re usually inside looking at a blueprint or answering the phone for the tenth time that hour while the ceiling fan creaks above us.
