Warren Tea Ltd.

We are located at 31 Chowringhee Road, which is one of those spots in Kolkata that everyone knows. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though the elevators can be a bit temperamental sometimes. Inside the Warren Tea office, it smells like paper and occasionally a bit of dried tea leaves if a sample has been opened. We’ve been part of the tea industry for a very long time, and you can see it in the way the office is set up. It’s not one of those modern glass offices; it’s more traditional with wooden desks and tall ceilings. Our day-to-day usually involves a lot of coordination with the estates and checking on how the harvests are going. There is a lot of paperwork involved in the tea business, more than people realize. We sit here and look out at the busy street, watching the trams and the taxis go by. It’s a noisy part of town, but once you close the heavy doors, it gets quiet enough to work. We have a few people who have worked here for decades, and they know the history of every ledger on the shelves. We don't really do much in the way of self-promotion. We just handle the business of tea from this central spot. It’s a lot of routine, checking prices and logistics, making sure everything is moving through the system correctly.
