Our W B U T office is based in Santinagar, over in the Palta area. This is part of the North 24 Parganas district. If you are sending us mail, the post office is Nonachandan Pukur and our local code is Kolkata 122. It’s a bit outside the main city center, which makes it a little quieter than some of our other spots. We have a decent-sized space here where we manage different parts of our operations. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so you see a lot of local families around. Our building is nothing special to look at, just a regular structure that’s been there for years. We spend our time handling administrative things and talking to students or staff who stop by. It’s a fairly relaxed atmosphere compared to the middle of Kolkata. We have a few trees around the building which give some nice shade in the afternoon. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and old cabinets filled with files. We don’t have fancy computers for everyone, but we make do with what we have. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other's name. We try to keep things organized, even if the paperwork piles up sometimes. It is a humble office but we get the job done without needing any big displays. Life in Palta is a bit slower, and we quite like that for our day-to-day work environment. We just keep our heads down and stay busy.
