Visa Steel Ltd

Our spot is on the third floor of a building on P Majumdar Road, over in the Haltu area of Kolkata. It's Flat 3C, so it’s more of an apartment-turned-office than anything else. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than we’d like. Downstairs, the street is always busy with people heading to the market or the post office nearby. We mostly handle administrative stuff here, keeping track of the steel orders and making sure the accounts stay straight. It’s a small team, so we all know each other’s business maybe a bit too well. The view from the window is just more buildings and power lines, but it’s Kolkata, so you expect that. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the side of the building. We have our files stacked up in the corner and a few old desks that have been with us for years. It isn’t the kind of place where you’d see big shiny logos, but we get the job done. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we’re being too loud with the phones, but mostly we just blend in. It's a practical place to work, close to home for some of us, and far enough from the main chaos to get some actual thinking done. We’ve been here for a while and don't see that changing. It is just another day at the office.
