Working out of the Martin Burn Building on R.N. Mukherjee Road means being right in the thick of things. It’s an old place, and you can really feel the history in the walls and the high ceilings. Being at number 1 is easy to remember, though the area gets incredibly crowded during the middle of the day. You’ll find us surrounded by tea samples and a lot of paperwork. The smell of tea is everywhere here, which is something you just get used to after the first week. It’s a very traditional spot. We don’t use any of those modern office layouts you see in movies. It’s just old desks and people who have been doing this for a long time. There's always a bit of a rush in the morning when the post arrives. We handle everything right here, from the tasting to the orders. The building itself has seen better days, but it has a character you won’t find in those new glass towers. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, and the stairs are steep, but it works for us. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably see us checking a batch or looking over the latest prices. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes messy place, but that’s how we like it. We have been here for years and hope to stay for many more.
