Our place is at Shop Room No. 16 and 17 inside the Yogmaya Market on Bidhan Sarani. It’s right in the middle of a lot of activity, which is common for this part of Kolkata. Being in a market means there is always noise and people moving about. We handle biomedical equipment from these two rooms. It gets a bit cramped sometimes when new shipments arrive, but we make it work. The market has been around for a long time, and you can find just about anything if you look hard enough. We usually get to the shop around ten in the morning and stay until the market starts to wind down. The space isn't huge, but having two rooms next to each other helps us keep things somewhat organized. Bidhan Sarani is a long road and it gets very crowded with buses and rickshaws. We are used to the chaos by now. Sometimes we have to move boxes out to the corridor just to find what we are looking for. It is a very hands-on job. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations because we are too busy checking manuals or testing things. Most people who come by are looking for specific parts or help with their machines. We just do the work and try to keep up with the pace of the market. It’s a straightforward setup without any extras. We usually grab lunch from one of the nearby stalls.
