Tutune System Private Limited is located at 7 Babulal Lane, and we are way up on the fourth floor. If you have ever been to this part of Kolkata near the big wholesale markets, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes are. It is a lot of stairs to climb if the power goes out, but it keeps us in shape. The office is one of those places where we use every bit of space we have for servers and workstations. It is a little cluttered with papers and old hardware, but we know exactly where everything is kept. From the fourth floor, the sound of the city below is a bit muffled, which helps us concentrate. We spend our days working on different systems and solving technical puzzles. We are not a giant corporation with hundreds of staff members. We are just a smaller group of people who actually like the technical side of the business. We usually bring our lunch from home and eat together at the main work table since there is no cafeteria here. The building is old and has that specific smell of old paper and rain that you find in this city. We like it though, as it feels like we are part of the neighborhood’s history. We do not have any big mission statements on the walls. We just have a list of tasks that need to be finished. It is a simple way to run a business.
