The Village Coffer

The Village Coffer is tucked away in Police Para, which is part of the Panchpota area in Sonarpur. It’s out in the 24 Parganas South district, so it feels very much like the countryside. We are a small local group trying to manage things for the community here. The name might sound a bit grand to some, but we are just a small office in a rural village. Most of our days are spent talking to the local residents and helping with small financial or resource needs. It’s a slow pace of life compared to the city, which suits us just fine. We have a simple room with a couple of fans to keep the heat away. The road to get here can be a bit bumpy, especially after it rains. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything. People in the village just know where we are. We try to keep our records straight and help out our neighbors. It’s a lot of listening to people's stories and trying to find ways to make things work. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we have to do things the old-fashioned way with pen and paper. We’ve been here for a few years and we’ve seen the seasons change. It’s not fancy, but it’s our place and we’re happy to be here doing what we do for the people around us.
