The Joint Clinic

You can find The Joint Clinic over at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute, which is at 7/2 Diamond Harbour Road. Being inside a large place like CMRI means there’s always a lot of activity and movement around us. Diamond Harbour Road is one of those places that never really seems to get quiet, with all the buses and cars constantly moving past the gates. We are just one small section within the larger hospital complex. It can be a bit confusing for people to find us the first time because the institute is so big, but once they get to the right section, it’s pretty straightforward. We focus mostly on joint issues here. Our space isn't huge, but it's got enough room for the patients and the staff to move around. It feels a bit different than a standalone shop because we are part of this big medical environment. But inside our own doors, we try to keep things a bit more relaxed. We have our own routine and our own way of doing things. The nurses and the desk staff have been here a long time, so they know how to navigate the CMRI system. It’s a lot of work, and some days are definitely longer than others when the appointments pile up. We just try to stay on top of the schedule and make sure the people coming in from the busy road outside get seen without too much of a wait or hassle.
