Tea Stall

You can find us at 44 Mahendra Banerjee Road, right in the Parnasree Palli area of Behala. It’s just a small tea stall, nothing more and nothing less. We’ve been standing on this corner for a long time now. Every morning, we open up early to catch the people heading off to work or the students going to school. There are a few benches where people sit and talk about the news or whatever is happening in the neighborhood. It gets pretty crowded during the evening rush when everyone is coming back home. We don't have a website or a big sign, just the usual jars of biscuits and the big kettle always boiling on the stove. The walls are a bit dusty and the floor is worn down from so many feet passing through, but that’s just how it is. We know most of our regulars by name and how they like their tea. We don’t try to be anything fancy like those new cafes. It’s just a place to get a quick cup and maybe a snack. Working here means seeing the same faces every day and being part of the life on Mahendra Banerjee Road. Sometimes it’s hot and sweaty work, especially in the summer, but we keep the stove going. It’s a simple life running a stall in Behala, and we’re used to the noise and the busyness of the street. There is always someone coming by for a chat.
