Tara Maa Varieties Stores

Our store is on the main road in Ultadanga, so we see a lot of people passing by every single day. Being on a main road means it is always noisy and there is always something happening outside the door. We call it a variety store because we try to keep a little bit of everything. You might find stationery, some basic toiletries, and maybe some household items all in the same aisle. It’s a bit of a mix. We don't have a lot of space, so things are stacked pretty close together. Sometimes it’s hard to find what you're looking for, but we know exactly where every single item is hidden. My wife helps me out during the busy hours in the evening when everyone is coming back from the office. We don't use a computer for our accounts, just a pen and a notebook like we always have. Kolkata is a busy city and Ultadanga is a busy part of it, so we just try to be a reliable spot for the locals. We've been here through the rains and the heat. The awning gets a bit worn out every year and we have to fix it. It's just a small family business trying to serve the people on this street. We like the bustle of the main road. It keeps us on our toes and the days go by fast. There is always someone new to talk to.
