Sunil Singh

Sunil Singh is my own name and also the name I use for the business here at 7 Strand Road. We are right in the thick of things in Phool Market. If you’ve ever been to this market, you know exactly how hectic and loud it can be. It’s especially crazy in the early mornings when all the fresh flowers are being brought in. There is a lot of shouting and trucks trying to squeeze through the narrow spots. My shop is quite small and humble. I’ve been in this exact same spot for a very long time now. The walls are a bit stained from years of daily use, but the building itself is solid and stays dry. I don’t have a big staff of employees. It’s just me and a couple of helpers who have been working alongside me for many years. We know this market inside and out. We don’t use computers much at all here. Most of our business is done with a simple pen and a thick notebook. It’s much easier that way for us. We don’t have to worry about the internet going down or a screen breaking. People come here because they know I’m always at the shop. Strand Road is never quiet. Sometimes when things slow down in the heat of the day, I just sit on a wooden stool outside and watch the people go by. It’s a simple life, but it suits me well. It keeps me active.
