Down at 23/1A Ganesh Ghosh Lane, things stay pretty busy most of the week. This is where Sristy Spirits Private Limited operates. Kolkata is a crowded city and our little corner here is no different. We deal with spirits, which basically means a lot of loading, unloading, and checking boxes. It’s not the kind of job you do in a suit and tie. Most of the time, we’re just in our regular clothes trying to make sure the inventory matches what the computer says. The lane outside is narrow so getting trucks in and out can be a real headache sometimes. We’ve learned to deal with the traffic and the neighbors over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the local shops get what they ordered without too much delay. It’s a lot of physical work and sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desk until Saturday. We have a small group of people working here who have been with us for a long time. We know the routine. It’s simple work, really. You buy, you store, and you sell. No need for big speeches about it. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the job is finished for the day. That’s how we’ve always done things around Ganesh Ghosh Lane and it seems to work out okay for everyone involved.
