Our office is tucked away in Gillander House, up on the second floor in F-Block. It's an old building, the kind with thick walls and high ceilings that make you feel like you're part of history. Spencer'S Retail Ltd. has been operating from this Netaji Subhash address for quite some time. It’s always a bit of a climb up to the second floor, especially on those days when the air feels heavy. The hallways can be a bit quiet, but once you step inside our space, there’s usually a lot going on with papers everywhere and phones ringing. We aren't exactly a high-tech startup. This is a place where actual work happens, and things can get a little messy during the busy seasons. We deal with all sorts of things related to the stores from this central spot. Sometimes the old windows rattle when a truck goes by on the street below. It’s a functional space. We have desks, chairs, and stacks of files that seem to grow on their own. People here have worked together for a long time, so there’s a lot of shouting across the room to get things done. It’s not pretty, but it works for us. Living and working around Netaji Subhash means you get used to the noise and the crowds. We just fit right into the middle of it all, trying to keep the business running smoothly from our corner of the floor.
