Our place is over in B7/52 Diamond Park in the Joka area of Kolkata. It’s a bit away from the main city center, which makes the commute a little long for some of us, but the area itself is a bit quieter. We have a functional office where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s got everything we need to do our tech jobs—internet, desks, and enough chairs for everyone. We aren't big on decorations, so the walls are mostly bare except for a calendar and a few necessary notices. The building is just a normal structure in a residential-commercial mix. On some days, you can hear the birds or the distant sound of traffic from the main road. We keep a pretty steady schedule, arriving in the morning and staying until the work is finished. There’s a small area where we keep a microwave and some water. We often sit there for a bit to take a break from the screens. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment; it’s more of a place where everyone knows what they have to do and just gets on with it. We’ve been here in Joka for a while now and have gotten used to the pace of the neighborhood. It’s a practical, no-nonsense office where the focus is always on the daily tasks we have to complete.
