Smanext Technologies is situated over on Lock Gate Road in Cossipore. It’s an old part of Kolkata, near the river and the old factories. The address is 14A/H/4, and it’s a bit tucked away, so you have to look closely at the numbers. This isn't one of those shiny new glass offices you see in the newer parts of town like New Town. It’s an older building with a lot of character, and maybe a bit of dust on the window sills. We do tech work here, mostly focusing on systems and software maintenance. It can get a bit loud with the traffic and the local activity on the road outside. We have a small team, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. There isn’t a boss who sits in a separate big office with a fancy chair; we all just sit together at the same tables and work. We don't spend money on fancy furniture or modern decorations. Most of our budget goes into the computers and the internet connection we use. Local folks in Cossipore know us as the tech guys on the road. We handle our daily tasks, drink a lot of tea from the local shop, and try to keep up with all the changes in the tech industry. It’s a very grounded way of working. We don’t have any grand statements to make about ourselves. We just show up at Lock Gate Road every morning and see what the day brings for us.
