S.K.Bhandar

S.K.Bhandar has been here on M M Feeder Road in Belgharia for a long time now. We are right opposite Adamas International School, so it gets pretty busy when the kids are coming or going. My family runs this place and we spend most of our day behind the counter. It is a small shop but we keep almost everything you might need for the kitchen. Every morning starts early with cleaning the shelves and checking the stock. The street outside is always loud with rickshaws and people walking to the station. We know most of the people living around here by their faces. Sometimes people just stop by to say hello or ask about the weather while they pick up their daily things. It is not a fancy store with air conditioning or big carts. Just some wooden shelves filled with packets of dal, rice, and snacks. Kolkata weather can get really hot, but we stay open through the afternoon anyway. If you are passing by the school, you will see our sign. We try to keep things organized but sometimes it gets messy when a lot of customers come at once. We do our own counting and billing on paper or a small machine. It is just a regular life for us here in Belgharia. We have seen the road change over the years, new buildings coming up and old ones gone, but we are still here doing the same thing every day.
