Shreemoni Tea Co. Pvt. Ltd. is up on the 4th floor of Govind Mahal, which is at No-3, Wood Street. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s a lot of old buildings and narrow stairs. Our office is in Flat-5, and it’s a pretty quiet place most of the time compared to the street noise down below. We’ve got stacks of paper and samples of tea everywhere. It isn't the kind of place you see in movies with sleek desks and glass windows. It feels more like a home that turned into a workspace over the years. We spend our mornings checking the latest prices and talking to the gardens. Wood Street is a good place for us because it’s central, even if finding a parking spot is a total nightmare. We take the lift up to the fourth floor every morning and stay there until the work is finished. Sometimes the lift doesn't work and we have to take the stairs, which isn't fun in the heat. We aren't looking to become some giant conglomerate; we just want to keep trading tea and keeping our clients happy with what they get from us. It’s a bit cramped in Flat-5, especially when we get a lot of mail or samples, but we know where everything is. We just do our work and go home. That's the way we’ve always operated here in Govind Mahal.
