Saute-D Place Private Limited

Our little spot is over on the second floor of the Rupsa building. If you know the Regent Estate area in Kolkata, you know it is mostly houses and some small offices tucked away. We are in Flat 2A. It is not like a big restaurant with a huge sign outside or anything like that. It is more of a workspace where we get things done. Being on the second floor means we are constantly carrying supplies up the stairs because the elevator is a bit finicky sometimes. The kitchen gets pretty hot when we have several things going at once. We spend most of our time in there just focused on the food and the orders coming in. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with the equipment and the staff, but we have a system that works for us. Outside the window, you can see the street life of 176/14/87 and the neighbors going about their day. We started this because we wanted to do something local and manageable. It is just a handful of us working here. We don't have a big corporate team or fancy uniforms. Usually, someone is washing dishes while another person is prepping ingredients on the small counter we have. It feels more like a home kitchen that just happens to be a business. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we are busy, but we manage to keep things moving along.
