Silica Valley

Our office is called Silica Valley, located at Ca-156 in Salt Lake City. It’s a nice enough area with some trees and parks around. We focus on tech stuff, mostly dealing with data and computer systems. It’s a lot of sitting in front of monitors for most of the day. The office has big windows, which helps make it feel less enclosed. We have a small kitchen area where we make coffee or heat up our lunch. Silica Valley isn't a massive corporation; we are just a small, dedicated group of people. Our team moved into Ca-156 a few years back. Salt Lake City is a good place to be because of the other businesses and cafes nearby. We don't have a lot of meetings, we just get on with the tasks we have. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold, so we have to wear sweaters even in summer. We deal with a lot of numbers and code. It’s quiet work for the most part. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, we're just doing the work we have. Our desks are usually covered in sticky notes and various cables. We park our bikes outside near the entrance. It’s a straightforward routine every day. We talk about movies or what we had for dinner last night. It feels like a normal workplace for us. We don’t use much jargon when we talk. We just explain things simply.
