S R Beverages

We are up on the second floor at 159 Rabindra Sarani here in Kolkata. It is a busy street. Most people know the building. S R Beverages has been here for a while now. It gets quite hot in the summer so we stay busy with the crates coming in and out. The stairs are a bit steep but that is just how these old buildings are. We handle various drinks, mostly local stuff that people ask for. My desk is right by the window where you can hear the horns from the street below all day long. Sometimes the delivery guys are late because of the traffic near the market, but we manage. It is just a few of us here making sure the orders go out to the shops. We do not have much fancy furniture, just the storage racks and a couple of chairs for when someone drops by to talk. Rabindra Sarani is always crowded, so getting things moved takes time. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for the trucks. It is a simple setup really. Nothing too complicated about what we do. We just keep the bottles moving. Most of our neighbors know us by now. If you are looking for us, look for the sign near the entrance then come up. It stays pretty loud inside with the fans running but we like the spot. It works for what we need. We usually close up once the last truck is loaded for the day.
