Being in West Bengal, we know how much people here love their food. We started this deli because we wanted to be part of that. The third floor is a bit of a climb but it gives us a bit of a view of the street below. New Alipore is a busy place, always people moving around. We aren't a massive corporation with a lot of rules. We just have our own way of doing things. It might not be perfect, but it’s ours. We spend a lot of our time making sure the deli items are what they should be. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours. Sometimes the air conditioning acts up or we run out of something we need, but we just handle it. We don’t have a marketing department telling us what to say. We just talk to people like we are. We like the neighborhood here in Block O. It’s got a good vibe. We just want to keep doing what we’re doing without too much fuss. It’s just us, working away in Kolkata, trying to make things work one day at a time. It’s not always easy, but we enjoy being here.
