It’s pretty busy here on M. N. K Road. Our office is at 136/2 and if you know this part of Kolkata, you know how the traffic gets during the day. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Most days it’s just us handling the usual engineering paperwork and coordinating things from the desk. It isn’t some fancy glass building you see in the tech parks. It’s a regular place with old fans and a lot of files stacked up. We usually start the morning with tea and look through what needs doing for the projects. Sometimes people drop by without calling first, which is fine, we just pull up another chair. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we do. We’ve got some desks pushed together and a computer that’s a bit slow but gets the job done eventually. It’s a local operation, nothing too formal. Usually, someone is always on the phone talking to a site or checking on a delivery. When the sun goes down, the street outside gets even noisier with the evening market starting up. We just close the windows and finish whatever is left on the table. It’s just how things go here at Reliance Engineering Associate Pvt Ltd. We don’t have a big lobby or anything, just a door with our name on it and some old stickers. It gets the job done.
