We are located right on Rash Behari Avenue, which is one of those streets that never seems to go quiet. There is always a tram passing by or people walking on the pavement outside our door. Our office isn't very large, just enough room for a few desks and some filing cabinets where we keep all the paperwork. We deal with life insurance, so there is a lot of form-filling and explaining things to people who walk in. Most of the time, we are sitting here going through documents or talking to folks about what they need for their families. It’s not the most exciting work, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen a lot of people come and go over the years we’ve been here on the Avenue. The walls are a bit plain, maybe a calendar or two hanging up, and the overhead fan is almost always spinning to keep the heat away. We don't have a big corporate setup with receptionists and fancy coffee machines. It’s just us, sitting at our desks, trying to make sure the records are correct and the premiums are paid on time. Sometimes people just drop in to ask a quick question about their policy while they are out doing their shopping. We take things as they come and try to keep the atmosphere calm, even when the traffic outside gets really loud and messy during the evening rush.
