Our office is situated at Bb-24 in Salt Lake Sector I. It is a standard residential-style building that we have turned into a workspace. Rank Software Consultancy is not a high-pressure environment with glass partitions. It is just a few rooms with desks, some old chairs, and a kitchen area where the fridge makes a loud humming sound. We spend our days mostly looking at code and answering emails. Salt Lake is a nice enough place to work, especially with the trees along the streets in Sector I. We do not have a big human resources department or complex rules. We just show up, do the work, and try to help people with their software issues. Sometimes we get stuck on a problem for hours and the room gets really quiet. Other times, we are all talking at once trying to find a solution. There is a pile of old tech magazines in the corner that nobody has looked at in years. We are not trying to change the world; we are just trying to provide a decent service and keep our clients happy. It is a practical way to earn a living. We do not do big fancy launches or corporate retreats. Mostly, it is just us, our computers, and a steady supply of tea to keep us going through the afternoon slump.
