You’ll find us at P.P. House, 2-C, Ronaldshay Road in Alipore. Alipore is a bit quieter than the rest of the city, and Ronaldshay Road is a nice spot to be. We are mostly focused on tea exports here. If you walk into our office, you’ll probably see bags of tea samples sitting on almost every flat surface. We spend a lot of time tasting different batches and deciding what’s good enough to send out. It’s a slow process sometimes, because you can’t rush these things. The office itself has a bit of an old-fashioned feel. We have tall ceilings and some old fans that click while they spin. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s a small group of us here. We handle everything from the initial sourcing to the final shipping documents. There’s a lot of back-and-forth with the shipping lines and the tea gardens. Sometimes the tea market is up, sometimes it’s down, but we just keep doing our daily routine. We like being in this part of town because it’s not as chaotic as the main business districts. You can actually hear yourself think here. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the quality of the tea we pick and the relationships we’ve built over the years. It’s a simple business, really, and we’re happy to be doing it from Alipore.
