Rajesh Stores

Rajesh Stores is tucked away in Building Number 6 on Shil Thakurbari Road. It’s a place we’ve called home for a long time now. The street can get a bit narrow and crowded with people, but that’s the charm of this neighborhood I suppose. We sell all sorts of daily items that people need. It’s a small shop, and sometimes the shelves look a bit cluttered because we try to fit as much as possible in here. We aren't some giant supermarket where you can't find anyone to help you. It’s usually just a couple of us behind the counter. We know many of the faces that come through the door by name. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own families. The building itself is older, and the floor squeaks a bit in certain spots, but it holds up okay for what we need. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open up early in the morning and stay until the last few people finish their shopping in the evening. Life on Shil Thakurbari Road moves at its own speed. We deal with local suppliers and try to keep the basics in stock. Sometimes we run out of things, or the delivery truck is late, but we figure it out. It’s not a complicated business. We just provide what the locals need and try to be fair about it. That’s been the way we do things since we first opened.
