Radiology Clinic

The clinic is right here near the Kolkata Armed Police area. Most mornings, the sun hits the front windows before we even get the keys in the lock. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but the location stays busy because of where we are. Inside, the walls are that standard off-white color you see in every medical place. We have the X-ray machines and the ultrasound rooms tucked away in the back where it’s quieter. Sometimes the fans make a little clicking noise, but we’re used to it by now. The chairs in the waiting room have been here a while, and they’re actually pretty comfortable if you have to sit for twenty minutes. We see people from all over the neighborhood. Some are just stopping in for a quick scan, while others have been sent over by their regular doctors. The paperwork stacks up on the front desk pretty fast, especially on Mondays. It’s a lot of filing and checking names. Sometimes the tea lady comes by outside and the smell of ginger tea wafts in through the door. It’s just a normal part of the day here. We don’t have fancy paintings on the walls, just some old posters about health. The floor gets scuffed from all the boots coming in and out, but we mop it every evening before heading home. It’s just us doing the daily work, making sure the images are clear and the files are in order.
