Our place is right on Netaji Subhas Road in Howrah, number 71/1/1 to be exact. If you’ve ever been to this part of West Bengal, you know how the streets are. It’s always loud with horns and people rushing to the station. The building we are in is older, and you can feel that when you walk up. It’s got high ceilings and those old-style windows that don’t always shut right. We spend most of our time here just dealing with whatever comes across the desk. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby, but we try to keep things organized. The tea stall downstairs is where we spend our breaks, usually talking about the work we have left for the afternoon. There isn’t any fancy signage or a receptionist waiting for you. Usually, you’ll just find one of us buried in papers or looking at a screen. We like it here because it feels like the heart of the city. The humidity gets to us in the summer, and the fans never seem fast enough, but we keep going. It’s a straightforward setup. No big meetings or polished speeches, just the daily grind in a busy Howrah neighborhood. We’ve stayed in this spot because it’s familiar and everyone around knows who we are. It’s not perfect, but it is where we do what we do.
