Om Infonet

If you go down into the basement at 95a Park Street, you'll find us in Room 17. It’s a bit tucked away, but we’ve been here at Om Infonet for a long time. Park Street is always noisy and crowded, so the basement is actually pretty peaceful for working on tech stuff. We mostly handle networking gear and computer parts. The space is small, filled with shelves of routers, cables, and old hard drives that we’ve collected. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because of all the boxes on the floor. We don't really have a showroom or anything like that for people to browse. People come in with a specific problem or needing a specific part, and we see what we can find in the back room. It gets a bit dusty with all the equipment, but that’s just part of the job. Most of our day is spent answering the phone or troubleshooting things that people drop off on their way to work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here in this basement. It’s a simple setup with no big reception desk, just us at our workbenches with our tools. We know the regulars by name and they know where to find us when their internet or their PC starts acting up. It's practical work and we like the location despite the lack of windows. We just turn on the lights and get to work.
