Okayti Tea Co. Ltd.

Our office is up on the fifth floor of the building at 1, British India Street. We are in Suite 505B. It is one of those older buildings with the high ceilings and thick walls. You can often smell the tea as soon as you step off the elevator. We spend most of our days talking to the gardens and checking the latest samples that come in. There are tins of tea sitting on almost every surface. Some of them are open because we are constantly tasting and comparing. We use these small white cups for the tastings. The floor gets a little bit dusty because it is an old part of the city and the windows aren't perfectly sealed. We have been in this specific spot for a long time now. The elevator is sometimes slow so we end up waiting in the lobby and chatting with the neighbors. It is a quiet office for the most part, except for when the phones start ringing all at once. We handle all the paperwork and the logistics from this room. It is definitely not a showroom for tourists. It is where the actual business happens. We have a couple of very old wooden desks that have been here since the company started. The view from our window is just other old buildings and some laundry hanging out. We like the history of this street. It feels right for tea.
