Oceania Beverages is situated in Natunhat Khanpara, which is part of the Sonarpur area in the 24 Parganas South district. To find us, you’ve got to head toward Post Boral. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren’t from around here, but the locals know the way. We’ve got a decent-sized space where we handle all the bottling and sorting. The air is usually pretty thick and humid being down here in the south, so the fans are always running full blast inside. We spend a lot of time checking the seals on the bottles and making sure the crates are stacked right so they don't tip over. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things around. The road outside can get pretty muddy when the monsoon rains hit, which makes getting the trucks in and out a bit of a challenge. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on the daily tasks. There’s a tea stall just down the road where we usually go for breaks. It’s not a fancy operation with a lot of high-tech stuff, just the basic machinery we need to get the job done. Sonarpur is a growing place, but this corner of Khanpara feels more like a village. We like the pace of it here. We just put in the hours and make sure the beverages are ready for transport.
