Jessore Road is always a hub of activity, so there is plenty to see out the window, even if it’s just more cars and buses. Our office is inside the apartment building, so it feels more like a home than a sterile workplace. We do a lot of data work and research here. It’s mostly quiet, with the sound of typing and the occasional phone call. Kolkata has a certain way of doing things, and we fit right into that. We don't rush through everything; we like to take our time and make sure the details are right. The apartment is a bit crowded with all our files and equipment, but we make it work. Naskar Bagan is a good neighborhood with plenty of small shops nearby where we grab snacks. It’s not a high-rise glass building like you see in the newer parts of the city. It’s an older place with a bit of character. We’ve got some plants on the balcony that we try to keep alive, and a small table where we eat our lunch. It’s a humble setup, but for the kind of research work we do, it’s all we really need. We’ve been here for a good while and the people in the building are used to us by now. It’s a nice little community and we like being part of it.
