Monalisa Colour & Chemical Company

Our registered office is at 9, Pran Krishna Mukherjee Road. It’s an older part of the area and the building has some character to it, even if the paint is peeling a bit in the corners. We’ve been Monalisa Colour & Chemical Company for quite some time. The office is full of sample cards and old jars of pigments. It smells a bit like old paper and chemicals, which I guess is expected. We aren't located in one of those new glass buildings; we prefer this old-school setup. The street outside can be quite narrow and crowded with rickshaws and delivery vans. It makes getting stuff in and out a bit of a challenge sometimes, but we’ve got a system that works. Most of our day is spent talking to regular clients who have been buying from us for years. We don’t really do big advertising; people just know we’re on Pran Krishna Mukherjee Road if they need dyes or chemicals. The wooden desks are scarred from years of use, and the ceiling fans hum all day long. It’s a comfortable place for us. We don’t use fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of stuff is still written down in ledgers because that’s how we’ve always done it. It’s just a small, local operation trying to keep the colors moving. We like the history of the place and the people around us.
