Mohurgong & Gula Tea Estates

Our office is on the first floor of P 17, right on Ganesh Chandra Avenue. Mohurgong & Gula Tea Estates is a name that sounds big, but here in the city office, it’s just a few of us working in a couple of rooms. The building is one of those old ones with high ceilings and fans that click all day long. We deal with the business side of things for the tea estates. There are always piles of paper on the desks and small tins of tea samples that we have to check. It’s not a shop where you walk in to buy a single cup. We are busy coordinating with the gardens and the people who buy the tea in bulk. The avenue outside is always loud with horns and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the tea. We’ve been at this for a long time, so we don’t need any fancy marketing to tell people who we are. Our workers know the tea trade inside and out. It’s a lot of routine work, checking quality and making sure shipments are on time. The office is a bit cluttered, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny office. We just care about the tea getting from the estates to the market without any trouble along the way.
