The office is up on the third floor at 226/1 A.J.C. Bose Road. Getting here in the morning is usually a bit of a struggle because the traffic in this part of Kolkata never seems to stop. Room 3A is where we spend most of our day. It is not a massive space, but it fits the few of us just fine. The windows look out over the street, so there is always some noise from the cars and buses below. We have a few desks pushed together and a lot of wires running across the floor because we are always plugging in different things. The elevator in this building has its good days and bad days, so sometimes we just take the stairs to get the blood moving. There is a small tea stall just down the road where we grab snacks when things get a bit too quiet in the office. It isn’t a fancy corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical place where we get our work done. Most of the furniture we have is stuff we’ve picked up over the last couple of years. We keep some files in the corner and a coffee machine that usually needs a good cleaning. It feels like a real workspace because it is a bit messy and there is always something going on. We have been in this room for a while now and it’s become quite familiar to everyone.
