Maa Vaishno Departmental Store

Our shop is tucked away on P K Guha Lane in Kolkata. It’s a narrow street but people find us easily enough since we are near Smirti Manch. Maa Vaishno Departmental Store has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. We have everything from spices to cleaning supplies crammed onto the shelves. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. Kolkata summers can be tough but the fans keep things moving. We see the same faces every day, mostly mothers getting things for dinner or kids looking for a piece of candy after school. At number 55, we try to stay organized but with so many small items, it’s a constant job. The location is 700028 and it’s a lively part of the city. We don't do much advertising because the word of mouth works fine around here. If someone needs a specific brand of tea or a certain type of rice, they usually come to us first. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble in the lane but we manage. My hands are usually dusty from moving sacks around. We just want to make sure the locals can get what they need without a fuss. It’s just a plain old store with plenty of stock and a bit of history in the walls.
