M. S. Creation

Down here on Rabindra Sarani, things are always crowded. We’re at number 156, right on the ground floor. It’s convenient because you don't have to climb any stairs, but it also means we get a lot of noise from the street. We are right opposite the Marwari Redial Society, which is a big landmark for people trying to find us. M. S. Creation is basically just a workshop and a small counter. We deal with a lot of textiles and various creation work. The ground floor is always a bit dusty, no matter how much we clean, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. We’ve got stacks of fabric and materials all over the place. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to move, but we manage somehow. My father used to say that a busy shop is a good shop, even if you can't see the floor. We don't have any fancy signs or neon lights. People just know where we are. We spend most of the day talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the stuff coming in. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours, especially during the festival seasons. The tea stall next door keeps us going with plenty of sugar. We aren't a big company with a HR department or anything; we just do our work and go home to our families at night. It’s a tired life sometimes, but it’s ours.
