We’re up on the 5th floor at 23A, N.S. Road, in Suite Number 5. Lopchu Tea Co. Ltd has been operating from this spot for a long time. Being on the 5th floor means we’re a bit removed from the street noise, but you can still hear the horns honking down below. N.S. Road is a legendary place for the tea trade, and we’re right in the middle of it. Our office usually smells like tea samples, which is a good thing. We spend our days tasting different batches and talking to the estates. It’s a lot of back and forth, making sure the leaves are what they should be. The office is a bit old-fashioned, with wooden desks and stacks of paper everywhere. We don’t see the need for a modern makeover. It works for us. Most of the staff have been here for decades, so we know each other’s habits. It’s a comfortable place to work, even when things get hectic during the peak season. We don't spend money on fancy marketing; the tea is what it is. We just handle the distribution and make sure the boxes get where they're going. It's a simple business model that hasn't changed much over the years. We like the continuity of it. If you ever find yourself climbing up to the 5th floor, you’ll find us there, probably with a cup of tea in hand.
